Chardonnay 2018 – SOLD OUT

The generous nature of Beechworth Chardonnay coupled with intensity, length and fine acidity adds up to a Chardonnay we are very pleased with. Only 3 barrels made.
Nebbiolo 2017 – SOLD OUT
The wine that we have been working towards for many years and pleasingly represents the variety as we had hoped. Delicate, floral and pretty aromatics together with fine savoury tannin and bright acidity to finish. This is medium bodied with length and poise. The drying tannins soften with air and will ensure a long life. Decant if drinking young and cellar if you have good conditions. By all means be in
touch to discuss how to cellar if you wish.

Rosso 2017 – SOLD OUT

This Rosso release has roughly equal parts nebbiolo, barbera and cabernet. A fuller more plush style than 16 but still with the underlying dry and savoury fine tannins. For us this wine provides early drinking approachability and interest.

Tempranillo 2017 – SOLD OUT

2017 fruit is solely from our Red Hill vineyard – a year of structure and intensity. An essentially savoury wine with a core of ripe fruit and ample but very fine tannin. In keeping with our style only older oak used. Very limited.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 – SOLD OUT

Its difficult not to ramble on when you get a vintage as good as 2015. Consistent mild temperatures allowed even ripening of balanced fruit that looked like it would make good wine right from picking. The resultant wine is just what we look for in cabernet. Structure, fruit generosity & most importantly balance. Very drinkable now but will live happily for many years. Around 25% of this wine saw new French oak for 18 months.

Rosso 2016 – SOLD OUT

Our second Rosso release and this vintage we trialled a little barbera. Another Piedmont native and as we hoped sits well in the blend. The barbera brings some fruit density and vibrant lift to the nose and finish. Roughly 68% nebbiolo, 18% cabernet & 14% barbera. Medium bodied with plump mid palate and supple fine tannins to finish.

Tempranillo 2016 – SOLD OUT

2016 provided ripe plush tempranillo with a generous palate. Hallmark silky tannins bring structure to the dark cherry fruits and the wine continues our essentially savoury style. Fruit is from our Red Hill vineyard and Fighting Gully Rd and again only older oak used.

Tempranillo 2015 – SOLD OUT

The cracker 2015 vintage is evident in this wine with a generous palate of dark fruits, savoury nuances and fine integrated tannin. Supple, moreish and starting to show the silky mouthfeel of the previous vintage. Fruit is from our Red Hill vineyard and Fighting Gully Rd. Only older oak used and 68 dozen made.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 – SOLD OUT

The 2014 vintage was a solid one in Beechworth and sees our medium bodied style of approachable Cabernet continued. The wine has the structure and balance to live happily for a few years however is ready now. Around 25% of this wine saw new French oak for 18 months.

Rosso 2015 – SOLD OUT

Our first vintage of nebbiolo from our Red Hill vineyard made this a very exciting wine for us! We made the decision to wait for some vine maturity before releasing a stand alone nebbiolo so a little a bit of cabernet was blended and the Rosso began. We intend to maintain a Rosso most years in the same style however the blend will vary. The most exciting thing for us is the nebbiolo looks like, smells like and tastes like nebbiolo. Its a long project and these early signs are very positive. Just medium bodied with plump mid palate and savoury tannins to finish.
